You guys probably know Pyrenees are my favorites. Big stubborn furry affectionate angels. This is Lorelei who came to us after her breeder couldn’t use her anymore. Unsurprising as she was loaded with intestinal parasites, heartworms, and even demodex. We began treating those first three conditions and she started to improve, gain weight, learned about sofa snuggles. Then she started avoiding food, getting lethargic and totally crashed. Our vets diagnosed her with Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia.
To save her life she needed a blood transfusion, almost a year of drugs afterwards, weekly, then bimonthly checkups, until she became this gorgeous girl you see before you. (She was always gorgeous, we just had to find the healthy version of Lorelei she was hiding in the inside) Adopted by her foster mom who took her in so she could be closer to the vet , because WHO COULD RESIST THAT SWEET FACE?
